About PBSS
Providence Black Studies Syllabus (PBSS) is a community-based African American history project focused on teaching Black Studies as a foundation for social change. Each seminar and workshop will be uniquely tailored to the specific learning goals and capacities of requesting entities.
PBSS believes that all students are capable of critically engaging with this nation's complex and controversial history. As such, PBSS sessions are designed to provide theoretically grounded historical education to support oppression-resisting communities seeking to use engaged scholarship as a mechanism for movement-based organizing around issues of racial justice, equity, and power sharing.
